In the residential market, the company has targeted the first-time homeowner and the investor looking for a value-for-money investment, and numerous complexes have been completed. These have either been sold under sectional title or retained as investment properties. Units in our investment portfolio become available for lease from time to time. The company is continuing to build for this category of buyer while at the same time entering into the affordable housing market - a marked contribution towards alleviating the severe shortage of housing for the lower income earner.
Recognizing that there was a need to diversify, and with new industrial townships being proclaimed, the company ventured into commercial and industrial developments in recent time. It intended to contribute in Large-scale Industrial Parks and Office Blocks, businesses and institutions. The company has also undertaken projects for specific clients, which were tailored to their exacting requirements. Those retained as investment properties have been leased or are currently available for lease.

Many of our sub-contractors have now worked with us for a good number of years and have proved their reliability and dedication to quality workmanship.
Stonehenge is able to maintain full control over all aspects of demolition, earthworks, construction and the recycling of waste building material. With automatic machines we also produce aggregates, cement products and bricks, virtually all the frustrations in obtaining supplies have been eliminated.
We continually keep abreast with new developments in all fields of the construction industry, a factor that has resulted in considerable savings to our clients in both material costs and time.
Our leased property portfolio is handled by Pacific Engineering And Suppliers. We believe that good upkeep is essential and our Property Maintenance Manager, with his reliable team, attends to any problems that may arise, ensuring that our properties are kept in good order at all times. The gardens of these properties are likewise developed and maintained by the Landscaping and Garden Maintenance team.
Top management believes in an open door policy and our Managing Director is personally involved with each project. Such a “hands on” approach ensures that good relations are maintained between our clients and the company at all times.
We are acutely aware that development leaves behind it a large carbon footprint. We adhere strictly to all regulations relating to environmental issues, as set out by the Local Council and the Department of Environmental Affairs. An environmental consultant is appointed on each site to assist with any issues that may arise.
Stonehenge successfully undertook the challenging development of many sophisticated tasks. In some abandoned infrastructures, the original buildings were tastefully restored, and they now serve as office space. Every effort was made to ensure that the architecture of the new buildings is more than satisfactory.
Our key strategic objective is the achievement of "zero harm". Site Foremen and management ensure that safety is not compromised in any circumstances by taking responsibility for employee safety, leading by example, encouraging positive safety behaviour and discouraging negative behaviour. Site Foremen apply a policy of zero tolerance to non-compliance with safety standards. The company undergoes regular Safety Audits. Cases of occupational and non-occupational disease are referred to external facilities.
